According to Trend Radars, the Evron Quarry archaeological site in Israel has the earliest archeological proof of humans discovering and using fire, dating back 800,000–1 million years.

In the past, evidence of controlled fire was found at Qasem Cave in Israel, which dates to approximately 400,000 years ago.
This time, scientists at Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science assert that they have found charred tools that may date back a million years.
Lead author Zane Stepka told the Jerusalem Post, “Fire is one of those things that makes humans who they are compared to other animals.”
